google search in the application. if you look for a dry cleaner, search for it, and then find it in the same box. it has a siri-like voice guided turn-by-turn directions, transit schedules, and locations saved on multiple devices. looking for a restaurant, for example, sitting at home, your home computer, when you are on the road, on your cell phone or even when you get to work, you can keep up with the directions anywhere along the way. couple features we are waiting for. no, it's not available on the ipad just yet. waiting for that. there's no integration with contacts so if you have your doctor's address savedded in the contacts, you can't get it seamlessly put in the application just yet, but that's just a matter of time. google share's doing well. we think, probably, because of the release. lots of hype today. connell: up over 700. good to have the turn-by-turn, and turn where you are supposed to be going, another key to this. thank you. >> thanks. connell: a good show last night, the 12-12-12 concert in madison

coming up next, the reunion with google that is long overdue. up for the company's biggestke blunder in history. mac's apple maps. >> people were lost without this application. many in different parts of the world getting confused and glitches in the software program. there isn't enough to fix some of it. google unveiling the apple maps today and it is already getting a good reception. it is the top download in the app store. there are public transportation mouse included. it fixes the glitches that many complained about in apple maps. wrong names, misplaced landmarks and incorrect addresses that cost people money and cause them confusion. the apple group, of course, it is for free. this application. but it's not altogether perfect. there isn't an ipod version just yet and also the voice immigration is not as good as other brands. it is only available in english. still to come, also, there is no tie in with the contacts. overall, these glitches are relatively small and simple and people are rejoicing. back to you. tracy: i certainly am. well, ab

there's positive things being said about microsoft and google. when you look at alternative operating systems, whether it's microsoft and their own hardware, this to me is the issue and has always been their issue, they're not going to be able to stave off hardware which becomes indistinguishable. and when you get to places where margins are cut razor thin and will do it better than apple, they can do it cheaper. this is the fundamental issue, it's not a technical issue. >> i would disagree on a microsoft side. microsoft reported their original os 8 numbers. they didn't give any of the surface numbers there. i think you're exactly right in terms of android. especially in an emerging market, that's becoming a bigger deal. keep in mind it's getting to some of these numbers for next year, it doesn't require the big apple growth that they've had. in other words, if they can just gain a fractional share and get to where they want to go. let android have a lot of the emerging markets and apple can beat the street numbers for 2013. >> gene, brian kelly.
